I apolagise as i have made a mistake in writing up this tab, and i thank "
jasonbts" for spoting it
Geddy Lee tone:
to get that geddy lee tone a new or newly cleaned set of strings help, but the main
is using the hard corners at the right hand of your two fingers on your right hand, and if
left handed , the left side of the fingers. your fingers will hurt and blister and you
have to take breaks now and then to let them heal up ,do not burst thes blisters
this is what hardens the skin and results getting a better Geddy Lee tone.

to see how he works his fingers because i cant explain it. however, I have
a youtube account (bottom of page) and someday I will post an instruction
video showing exactly how he does it.
live he does a slide to 8 here, but not in the studio version so if its the
studio version you are after leave out the slidey bit.

I'm fortunate to have a 22 fret bass - you could probably do it an octave down or just slide up until your 20th fret.
I have no idea what Geddy uses as an amp or settings but I do know he currently plays a Fender Jazz bass (there's actually a signature one called the Geddy Lee Jazz bass). When they were starting out he played mostly on a Rickenbacker 4003 (i think?)

Perfect tab, this song is a bomb to play. I would suggest that on the very last note, in the studio version at least, Geddy Lee slides from the 12th fret to the 19th fret and bends that a bit.
