"Does Anybody Hear Her?"
- Casting Crowns

Capo 1 (Key of F)

Verse 1:
E B C#m B A
She is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
E B C#m B A
She is trying but the canyon's ever widening in the depths of her cold heart
        B E A
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find,
         B E A
She's another two years older and she's three more steps behind

Chorus:
              E B
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
                C#m B A
Or does anybody even know she's going down today?
                            E B
Under the shadows of our steeple with all the lost and lonely people,
                  C#m B A
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
             F#m A
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

Verse 2:
E B C#m B A
She is yearning for shelter and affection that she never found at home
E B C#m B A
She is searching for a hero to ride in, to ride in and save the day
     B E A
…And in walks her Prince Charming and he knows just what to say
      B E A
Momentary lapse of reason and she gives herself away

Bridge:
     C#m A
If judgment looms under every steeple, if lofty glances from lofty people,
E B
Can't see past her scarlet letter and we never even met her (x2)

C#m A E B

Outro:
E B C#m B A
He is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction…

There's only five chords to the song, and because the chords are in the key of E
I have alternate chords to make it easier for those who are "Barre Challenged".

E is the only chord that is normal. The idea is to keep the B & E strings (1 & 2) open.
So for the F#m you will have to stretch your middle finger towards the head of the
guitar a bit so you can hit the note on the G string. A, B, and C#m are basically
power chords.

This is honestly my first tab... posted online. I couldn't believe how many times people
have tried this song and yet still hadn't gotten it close to right, so I finally got
the nerve to register and post my own. Blessings, and remember to brush up on your
music theory!

Great work! I agree with almost everything. I played along with the song and I think both the "E" and the "B" sound better when played in full. But, the open C#m and the A sound fantastic( it is much easier to transition when you play the opened "B"). I think it would sound nice to have one guitar playing standard while the other stays open.
